19-21 August 2026, Wolseley Tourism attended the annual SATSA Conference at the Southern Sun Cape Sun in Cape Town.

2026 Conference Highlights

Under the theme “Eduze Kwam | Staan My By” (Cohesive Resilience, Visionary Growth), over 400 delegates gathered to focus on four main takeaways:

Community First: Great tourism starts locally—"a place must be a great place to live for it to be a great place to visit." Quality grading remains essential.

Regional Infrastructure: Growth must extend into small towns and dorpies, backed by targeted investment and repaired infrastructure.

Smart Tech & AI: The focus shifted to using AI for long-term structural shifts, asking "what is AI making abundant?"

Future Resilience: Tourism remains a powerful tool for socio-economic change. The message was clear: "We have survived; now it's time to build."
